Highland Fine Cheeses products Skinny Crowdie and Strathdon Blue Cheese will be stocked in 90+ Co-op stores across Scotland.

A family-run cheesemaker from Tain has secured a listing with the Co-op as part of the retailer’s focus on local and community sourcing

 

Highland Fine Cheeses has two of its cheeses listed in more than 90 Co-op stores across Scotland.

 

Cheese supplied to Co-op by Highland Fine Cheeses are its Skinny Crowdie – a traditional highland cheese which was the the first to be made by the Stone family in the 1950’s and is described as light and creamy with a faint hint of lemon and soft curd texture, And, its Strathdon Blue cheese.

Rory Stone, who joined the family cheese making tradition in 1994, said: “We are delighted. Co-op is a great fit for us, it has a great reputation and customer loyalty with its stores in the heart of local communities. Supplying Co-op also supports our business development, and helps raise awareness of our cheeses, not only among residents, but also further afield as visitors to the area look for local produce to take back home with them.”
